Minimum Wage Increase Fails, Reuters Whines

“The Senate on Wednesday defeated a proposal pushed by Democrats that would have given some of the lowest-paid hourly workers a boost in their wages for the first time in nearly a decade,” sniffed Reuters.
Of course, no one actually works on minimum wage for a decade, so when the last increase was made is irrelevant as the people who were earning minimum wage then should be making much more now, on their own merits. Despite the known economic consequences of setting and raising a minimum wage, Kennedy vowed it “would be a top priority if Democrats win control of the Senate in November’s elections.” Straight from the horses mouth: if Democrats win expect plenty of layoffs of minimum wage workers.
